_x000D_ The constellations through which the sun appears to move are known as Zodiacal Constellations. They are 12 in number. Sun moves on their backdrop and passes through on constellation in one month. This is the basis for several astrological calculations. However, In reality the shapes and name of these constellations are useful for better understanding of night sky. Early astronomers noted that the sun seems to move against the background of  starts, an effect caused by our changing view point. We precieve that the sun follows a particulars path through the starts. This path is known as the Zodiac.
